With a network of 20,000 volunteers, Folklorama provides opportunities in a variety of fun and engaging volunteer roles. Whether you would like to volunteer at one of our pavilions, help out at one of our special events, or give us a hand at the Folklorama office, there are several ways to get involved with the largest and longest-running multicultural festival of its kind in the world. Volunteering with Folklorama is a rewarding experience and an excellent way to support the festival and our year-round programming.

Volunteer opportunities are available in the following areas:

Folklorama Llama Mascot Escort: Assists the Folklorama Llama mascot in manoeuvering through crowds at events. A current, clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check are required.

Office Assistance:

  • Administrative Office Assistance: Assist with administrative office duties that may include use of computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Access, Excel and Word.
  • General Office Assistance: Assist with general office duties, such as preparing mailings, assembling packages and trimming promotional pieces.

Pavilion Volunteer: Fill specific volunteer requirements, which vary depending on the pavilion.

President’s Tour Drivers: Chauffeur the Folklorama President and their guests to and from pavilions during the two weeks of the Folklorama Festival. A current, valid driver’s licence is required.

Special Events (i.e. Ambassadors’ Inaugural / Kick Off): Assist with registering participants, maintaining the grounds, welcoming guests and providing event and festival specific information.

VIP Tour Guides: Host group tours on motor coaches from pick up, between and at pavilions and drop off.

VIP Tour Registration: Ensure guests are welcomed, registered and directed to the appropriate buses.
