Know Before You Go

From August 6-19th, 2017 Folklorama member communities will welcome you with open arms and hearts to share what culture means to them.

To experience the most out of Folklorama, take a moment to read about the Folklorama Travel Guide, admissions, and other important information before you experience the largest and longest-running multicultural festival of its kind in the world!

Pick up the Folklorama Travel Guide:

The Folklorama Travel Guide is a must have leading up to and during the festival. It’s packed with information, show times, and a comprehensive map, and it’s small enough to take with you!

Find one at Manitoba Liquor Marts, Cambrian Credit Union branches, Vickar Automotive Group dealerships, Winnipeg 7-Eleven locations, leading Manitoba hotels and attractions, as well as the Folklorama office.

Use the map found in the centre of the Travel Guide, to determine which pavilions are close to you, or venture out and schedule your pavilion visits in a new part of town and take in two or three shows in one evening!

Or visit multiple pavilions in one evening by joining a VIP Tour. Experience a VIP Tour by walking, cycling or motor coach. Folklorama’s VIP Tours include two or three pavilions and allow you to bypass the line, reserved seating with table service, and a delicious and authentic progressive meal.

Plan a spontaneous evening out!

Round up your family and friends and enjoy dinner and a show! Single admission is available at the door of each pavilion for $6, and children under the age of 12 are free when accompanied by an adult (limit of five per adult).

Every year volunteers work tirelessly to bring you delicious cultural food and drink. So make sure to arrive early so that you have enough time to find your seat and sample everything they have to offer!

The cost of food and beverages is not included in your admission cost.

Once you have your food and/or drink sit back and watch some superb entertainment with a variety of cultural music, folk dance, or demonstrations.

Did you know? Many of the performers you see at Folklorama are local groups while some pavilions host performers from their culture!
